Text book: Introduction to experimental particle physics, Richard Fernow
Cambridge University press, ISBN 0-521-37940-7 paperback.
This book is available at the CU bookstore. Its also available
at on-line book sellers.
Students of this course will also find the information produced by the
Particle Data Group very useful (see below).
The first meeting for the course will be on Wednesday the 14th of September at 1:00 pm
in room TB 204.
The course will continue on Wednesdays and Fridays at 1:00 pm in the same room.
Note the second make up class will be on the 1st of November between 2 and 3:30 pm in room HP 3349.
The fourth assignment is due on the 14th of November and the fifth
assignement is due on the 28th of November, in each case before 4pm.
Please put assignments in my mailbox on the 3rd floor near the departmental office.
The exam is scheduled for the 15th of December 9 am to 5pm.

There is a lot of useful information on this website including an interactive webpage of
particle properties. There is also a series of reviews that are directly relevant to the
material covered in the course. The reviews that are most relevant are contained in the
sections on "Constants, Units, Atomic and Nuclear Properties" and
"Experimental Methods and Colliders". There is also some useful information in the
Kinematics section. It is possible to download specific reviews or the complete set of
PDG webpages.
