Problem with the window manager on idun at login???

click session at bottom of login screen
choose gnome
login as usual

The video settings had somehow been changed and then saved to
disk in the last two weeks.  When the old file was restored, 
it came back to life.

The file in question was /etc/X11/XF86Config

On another note, when the video is not working (or for any other
reason), you can switch to text login on the console by entering :

CONTROL-ALT-F6   And return to video using CONTROL-ALT-F8
